Our Story Started With
One Frustrating Question

"With all this information, why is the college process still so stressful and confusing?"

As a parent of a high schooler and an insider in the world of Ivy League admissions, I asked myself this question constantly. I saw friends, neighbors, and colleagues—all brilliant, capable people—completely overwhelmed by the college journey.

They were drowning in rankings, stressed by deadlines, and paralyzed by the fear of making a costly mistake. They were having the same tense dinner-table conversations we were. I knew there had to be a better way.

Worse, we saw an industry of high-priced consultants spring up, charging families tens of thousands of dollars—sometimes up to $100,000—for advice that should be accessible to everyone. It felt fundamentally wrong. We decided to democratize the process, making insider-level expertise and powerful tools available to all families, not just the ones who can afford a private counselor.

We created College Journey not just as a business, but as the answer we wished we had for our own family.

My journey with college admissions is deeply personal. Despite getting into Princeton, I arrived completely unprepared for what came next. The academic rigor overwhelmed me, and I realized I wasn’t ready—not academically, not emotionally. I took a year off to reassess, eventually returning and graduating, but that experience taught me a crucial lesson: getting in isn’t enough if you’re not prepared to thrive.
